Dr. James Ruderman

In March 2006, Dr. Ruderman was appointed chief, medical staff for Women's College Hospital.

In 2005, he was chosen as Ontario's family physician of the year. His colleagues cited him for his outstanding leadership as a clinician, teacher and researcher, as well as for his personal qualities of warmth, modesty and wisdom.

Dr. Ruderman has a long history at Women's College Hospital, dating back to 1978, when he first began his practice here.

As Women's College Hospital's chief of medical staff, Dr. Ruderman - in conjunction with the CEO and department chiefs - will be responsible for the quality and delivery of care to patients of the hospital.

He will also participate in the development of the Hospital's mission, objective and strategic plan, chair the hospital's medical advisory committee, work closely with CEO Marilyn Emery, and serve as a member of the Women's College Hospital board of directors.
