Volunteers play an important role in Women's College Hospital, as they have throughout the hospital's history. We have a dedicated group of some 150 active volunteers who work alongside busy health-care teams in more than 30 areas of the hospital. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, all age groups - students through seniors - each with a unique gift to contribute:
- Our Waiting Room Volunteers assist patients and their families who are waiting for various tests or procedures.
- Our Information Desk Volunteers are often the first faces a visitor sees coming to the hospital, and are always ready to give directions and information.
- Our Gift Shop Volunteers run our general shop on the main floor.
- We even have a Used-Book Sales Group that organizes our monthly sales of used books, which are a great source of income for the hospital.
- Other Volunteers provide much-needed assistance to staff in areas including:
- Breast Centre
- Medical Imaging
- Dermatology
- Surgical Day Care
- Family Practice
- Osteoporosis

Please note that volunteer roles are available Monday to Friday (daytime hours only). We do not offer evening and weekend roles.
