Women’s College Hospital (WCH) is one of Canada’s Top 40 research hospitals for the fifth year running, according to new rankings published by Research Infosource Inc.
WCH outperformed many larger institutions on the list in several categories. The hospital grew research expenditures by six per cent compared to last year. Compared with other small research hospitals, WCH remained one of the top 10 in research intensity.
The list, published annually, ranks Canadian research hospitals by the amount of research funding they attract and spend.
Dr. Paula Rochon, vice-president of research at WCH, says she is proud of the hospital’s research growth this year. “This accomplishment highlights WCH’s ability to attract top research talent,” she says. “Our scientists are producing exceptional research every year.”
