Since 1911, teachers and mentors have inspired, motivated and educated future leaders at Women’s College Hospital (WCH). Today, more than 100 years later, teaching and learning continue and the next generation looks as bright as ever.

And it’s all because of the exceptional people who inspire their students and pioneer innovative models of learning. That’s why, on June 26, WCH celebrated its Third Annual Excellence in Education Awards Luncheon, honouring their hard work and dedication.  

“There is no doubt that academic excellence is woven throughout the fabric of Women’s College,” says Dr. Anne Matlow, vice-president, education. “We are grateful to everyone who participated in the nomination process and are particularly proud of the award winners. Congratulations and special thanks to each of you – who together with your colleagues are transforming learning at WCH.” 

The annual awards are presented to educators for their dedication and commitment to excellence in the education of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students. Nominations were made by colleagues, students, clinical education co-ordinators, managers and department chiefs.

“At Women’s College, education is valued immensely and the outstanding academics and teachers deserve ongoing recognition,” says Marilyn Emery, president and CEO. “To become the hospital of the future, we need to enhance the minds of the future. And it is through education and enlightenment – led by our teachers and leaders – that we will reach new heights in health care.”
