Every day, Women’s College Hospital’s (WCH) dedicated staff, physicians, volunteers and students devote their time and energy to providing the best care, research and education possible. To show appreciation and give back to those who work so hard day in and day out, WCH hosted its Annual Summer Barbecue on June 12.
With the sun shining, our WCH community mingled with friends and colleagues and celebrated a job well done. A delicious assortment of food including hamburgers, chicken, sausages, veggie burgers, watermelon and cake for dessert made for a fantastic event.
“The barbecue is an event that I look forward to every year. There’s lots of food to choose from and the cake is an extra tasty treat,” said Anita Colquhoun, charge technologist, WCH. “It’s really nice to see the senior team helping out and meeting all the staff.”
The senior leadership team was all smiles as they distributed food and expressed their appreciation and gratitude to everyone.
“I’m thrilled so many people were able to come and celebrate,” said Marilyn Emery, president and CEO. “The barbecue is a perfect time to thank our hard working staff for everything they do for Women’s College Hospital.”
Helpful members from our Infection Prevention and Control team raised awareness of the importance of hand hygiene and provided hand sanitizer to the crowd as they lined up.
“Participating in the barbecue is a fun way to spread the word about hand hygiene here at Women’s College Hospital,” said Jessica Ip, manager, Infection Prevention and Control. “It’s a great opportunity to remind staff to clean their hands when providing patient care as well as before they eat!”
Another fresh addition to this year’s event included the musical entertainment from WCH’s own Leroy Ennis and Paul Fitterer.
Thank you to all who contributed to the barbecue and helped make it a huge success!Jump to top page
