Tridec offers the following programs for clients with Type 1 diabetes:
The Insulin Pump Program is an information session on what to expect from insulin pump therapy and is a requirement of the government’s Assistive Devices Program (ADP). Individuals attend the session prior to starting insulin pump therapy and have the opportunity to meet with insulin pump representatives, learn about how to use the pumps and view what pumps are available in Canada.
The Transition Program provides ongoing education and support for young adults age 18 to 25 years who have diabetes. The program offers an individualized approach to managing diabetes and the opportunity for the Tridec team to provide a coordinated approach to patient care by working with the individuals’ endocrinologist.
Individuals have access to a nurse, dietitian, physiotheraptist and social worker who can assist with self-identified needs in managing their diabetes.
In this program, the diabetes and pregnancy team provides pre-pregnancy, pregnancy and postpartum counselling for women with Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes.
A referral from a physician is required. Download a copy of the Tridec referral form. (PDF)
Programs are covered by OHIP.
