Volunteering at Women's College Hospital

Volunteers play an important role at Women's College Hospital, as they have throughout the hospital's history. Our volunteers come from many walks of life, all age groups - students through seniors - each with unique skills to contribute. We have a dedicated group of over 130 active volunteers who work alongside busy healthcare teams in more than 30 areas of the hospital.

  • Waiting Room Volunteers assist and support patients and their families who are waiting for medical tests or procedures.
  • Information Desk Volunteers greet patients and visitors who enter the hospital and offer directions and information.
  • Gift Shop Volunteers run the shop in the main lobby.
  • Used-Book Sales Group volunteers organize monthly sales of donated used books, generating income for the hospital.
  • Other Volunteersprovide much-needed assistance to staff in areas including:
    • Medical Imaging
    • Dermatology
    • Surgical Day Care
    • Family Practice
    • Osteoporosis
    • Urgent Care Centre

Volunteering at Women's is a rewarding experience. Whether you are looking to help other people, give something back, engage in a unique community, or gain experience in a healthcare setting, there is a role for you at Women's College Hospital.

Volunteer roles are available Monday to Friday (daytime hours only). Unfortunately we do not offer evening and weekend roles.
