Summer Youth Volunteers

Women's College Hospital offers volunteer positions to eligible high-school and undergraduate university students during the summer. Volunteer positions are available (Monday through Friday daytime hours only) in many areas, including

  • gift shop
  • information desk
  • patient waiting rooms
  • used-book sales group
  • medical imaging
  • archives
  • dermatology
  • family practice
  • surgery
  • osteoporosis
  • medical library


Eligibility :
In order to qualify to be a student volunteer, you must:

  • be 14 years of age, or older
  • have completed Grade 9
  • provide two (2) references
  • have a tuberculosis skin test (two-step)
  • submit a completed medical form
  • attend an information session


Requirements :
Student volunteers are required to:

  • Commit to the full month of either July or August. You must be available for the entire session.
  • Applicants available for both full months will be given priority.
  • Work 3 half-day shifts (either 3 half-days or 1 ½ full days) per week.
  • Pay a refundable $10.00 deposit on your security badge (You'll be provided with a T-shirt uniform.)

 

To apply:  Join us for an information session on either Monday May 31 at 5 p.m. or Wednesday June 2 at 5 p.m.

The information sessions are held in the Cummings Auditorium (room E139 on the first floor). Applications will be distributed at these sessions and you MUST attend a session to apply.  Registration for these sessions is NOT required.
