This webpage is the very first hub of resources created for and with Black women experiencing breast cancer in Canada. We still have so much more to learn about breast cancer affecting Black women and we urgently need research in this area.

Canada is increasingly recognizing the importance of race and racism, and we’re leading the way! Black women in Canada are participating in research to share their experiences and advocating for the recognition of Black women’s breast cancer journeys.

To participate in research around the experiences of Black women with breast cancer, see the poster here for how to get involved. Participating in this study can help start conversations around how healthcare providers and cancer care teams can improve care to be more culturally relevant and tailored for Black women.

Email Miah Zammit – miah.zammit@uhn.ca to participate

There are also a number of clinical trials available that are free for you to participate in if you are living with cancer. Check out these websites to find research studies in your area! You can use the advanced search features to finetune the criteria to your needs.
