Facebook Live – All about the IUD

July 9, 2018

By Katie Fraser

Intrauterine devices (IUDs) made news recently as the Canadian Paediatric Society released their recommendation that IUDs should be the main method of birth control for youth.

Women's College Hospital’s (WCH) Bay Centre for Birth Control (BCBC) specializes in sexual and reproductive healthcare and commonly fields questions around IUDs. To provide answers about this method of contraception, WCH hosted a Facebook Live session with Dr. Sarah Warden and Shana Brandes from the BCBC.

The session, titled All about the IUD, highlighted different device models, the benefits of this method and considerations including cost and effectiveness. Dr. Warden and Shana also took viewers through the process of insertion and showcased different device models.

If you missed watching the session live, you can view the video on our Facebook page here.
