Join us on December 6 – National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

December 3, 2018

National Day of RemembranceThis year marks the 29th anniversary of what has come to be known as the Montreal Massacre.

On Dec. 6, 1989, a man entered L’École Polytechnique in Montreal, separated the men from the women and shot and killed 14 women while making anti-woman statements.

On the anniversary of this tragic day, Women’s College Hospital will reflect on violence against women and remember the women who have tragically lost their lives to gender-based violence.

Please join us in our commemoration:

Thursday, December 6
12 – 1 p.m.
Women’s College Hospital Auditorium – 2nd Floor

A keynote address “Why They Kill: Elliot Rodger, Alek Minassian and Everyday Toxic Masculinity” will be presented by Dr. Jooyoung Lee, PhD, Associate Professor of Sociology, University of Toronto, faculty member at the Centre for the Study of the United States.

All are welcome.
