Women’s Xchange fall event: Leading Women in Science

To celebrate their fifth anniversary, Women’s Xchange is hosting Leading Women in Science on November 13 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Burton Hall Auditorium and Pink Cube.

Featuring key female leaders in scientific fields, the event includes presentations and a moderated panel discussion on achieving gender parity in STEM. Through an open and dynamic conversation, the event will explore how to further engage young women in science, how to ensure that they continue along in their careers and how women can advance as leaders.

Speakers include:

  • Inmar Givoni, PhD – Autonomy Engineering Manager, Uber Advanced Technology Group
  • Huda Idrees – Founder and CEO, Dot Health
  • Lisa Richardson – Strategic Lead in Indigenous Health, WCH & Co-Lead in Indigenous Medical Education, University of Toronto
  • Marianne Mader, PhD – Executive Director, the Canadian Association of Science Centres
  • Sharon Walmsley – Director of Clinical Research, Immunodeficiency Clinic, Toronto Hospital, University Health Network
  • Chika Stacy Oriuwa – Third-year medical student at the University of Toronto, MD/MSc Systems Leadership & Innovation Candidate 2020, spoken word artist
  • Christine Birak – Health and Science Reporter, CBC National News (panel moderator)
