In April, Women’s College Hospital Foundation’s (WCHF) young professionals committee, neWCHapter, hosted its 5th annual Women Paying it Forward fundraising event at Dream Unlimited, a long-time WCH donor and partner. The event raised nearly $10,000 to support the work of Women's College Hospital's Institute for Health System Solutions and Virtual Care (WIHV).

Women Paying it Forward

The event showcased how Women’s College Hospital (WCH) is transforming healthcare through the innovative use of virtual care technology. Moderated by neWCHapter event lead Kelsey Ingram, speakers included Dr. Sacha Bhatia, director of WIHV, as well as patient Kaori Noguchi, who underwent the revolutionary new same-day hip replacement surgery developed at WCH and benefitted from the use of a virtual care app as she recovered from home. Jennifer Bernard, president and CEO of Women’s College Hospital Foundation, gave closing remarks.

Dr. Bhatia inspired event attendees by showcasing how WCH’s work to improve healthcare for women and for everyone relies on bold and courageous new solutions – solutions that are made possible thanks to the generosity of the hospital’s philanthropic community.

Women Paying it Forward was originally established in 2014 as an opportunity for companies to send their young rising stars or mentors and mentees to a networking event that also highlights important topics related to women's health. Since then, the event has grown to become a sought-after education session open to all members of the WCH donor community interested in learning about different issues impacting healthcare for women and their loved ones. Guests are encouraged to “pay forward” the information they take away from this event by sharing it with their networks — creating healthier and stronger communities for us all.

Women’s College Hospital Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to neWCHapter members for their dedication to championing WCH in the community and raising important funds for the hospital’s greatest priority needs. neWCHapter is following in the footsteps of WCH’s revolutionary leaders by creating a healthier and more equitable world for all.
