Protect your colleagues and patients – get your flu shot

October 20, 2014

The 2014 flu vaccination campaign at Women’s College Hospital (WCH) officially kicked off earlier this month with Marilyn Emery, president and CEO, receiving her flu shot.

Influenza is among the top 10 infectious diseases in Ontario and one that poses significant health risks to Canadians each year, especially the elderly, the young and people with underlying medical conditions. Rates of infection are highest among healthcare workers and research shows that vaccination reduces the spread of the flu.

At WCH, commitment to quality and safety is a top priority. All staff, physicians and volunteers are encouraged to get vaccinated this flu season.

The WCH flu clinic schedule is noted below:

Dates:  Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (Oct. 14 - Nov. 20)

Times:  8 to 9:30 a.m. OR 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Place:  WCH main lobby (76 Grenville St. entrance)

For individuals who are not able to attend these flu clinics, appointments can be arranged by calling occupational health and safety (at extension 6023).
