August 10, 2015

Research CanadaWomen’s College Research Institute (WCRI) is pleased to be a new member of Research Canada, a national, broad-based alliance dedicated to advancing health research through collaborative advocacy.

WCRI was recently welcomed as a new member along with two other organizations, the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science and the University of Saskatchewan.

"I am delighted to welcome these three new members into the fold," said Judy Noordermeer, chair of Research Canada's membership committee, in Research Canada’s press release announcement. "They represent an enormous amount of research knowledge and practice, and their contributions to the health of Canadians greatly inspire our advocacy efforts."

As a member of this alliance, WCRI will have an opportunity to participate in health research advocacy initiatives spearheaded by Research Canada, including invitations to participate in high-profile health research forums to promote health research in Canada. WCRI will also have access to Research Canada’s resources and services related to advocacy and networking.

“We look forward to working with Research Canada and its many members to advance health research across Canada and ultimately make a positive impact on improving patient care,” says Dr. Paula Rochon, vice-president of research at Women’s College Hospital.
