Women’s College Hospital welcomes the Brief Psychotherapy Centre for Women to its new home

August 10, 2015

Women’s College Hospital (WCH) is thrilled to welcome the Brief Psychotherapy Centre for Women (BPCW) to its new home on the 7th floor of the hospital.

Since opening in 1988, the BPCW has worked with women experiencing difficulty with a range of issues such as depression, anxiety, body image, loneliness, loss and bereavement. The program offers individual and group psychotherapy to women using a feminist mental health model called brief relational-cultural therapy. This therapy is designed to meet the unique needs and goals that each woman identifies for herself.

The BPCW’s new space at WCH will allow patients to easily access several hospital services such as Stella’s Playroom and the soon-to-open hospital food court and rooftop garden – all without having to leave the building.

To celebrate the move, the BPCW team recently attended an intimate welcome breakfast where they shared memories of their old home with senior team members. The team was also presented with a keepsake welcome poster, signed by some of the WCH staff who helped make the move possible.

We wish the BPCW team all the very best in their new home!
