Dr. Noah Ivers honoured with the CIHR-IHSPR Rising Star Award

Dr. Noah IversWomen’s College Hospital is proud to announce that Dr. Noah Ivers, family physician at Women’s College Hospital, has been selected as the recipient of the 2012-2013 CIHR-IHSPR (Canadian Institutes of Health Research-Institute of Health Sciences and Policy Research) Rising Star Award.  He will formally be honoured at the Canadian Association for Health Services and Policy Research conference taking place in Vancouver from May 28 to May 30.

The Rising Star Award recognizes emerging health services and policy researchers. The review committee selects winners for the Rising Star Award based on the submission’s potential impact within the field of health sciences and policy research, research innovation and excellence in research and/or knowledge translation. Dr. Ivers will receive a $1000 reward and a certificate of excellence.

Dr. Ivers’ submission for the Rising Star Award is titled Audit and feedback: effects on professional practice and healthcare outcomes. The results from the study will inform best practices in using audit and feedback to improve quality of care for patients, which is invaluable information for policy-makers, administrators and healthcare providers.

Dr. Ivers intends to use the findings from this study to continue developing and testing new interventions to further improve outcomes for patients in primary care settings. Dr. Ivers is also a post-doctoral fellow with the department of family and community medicine and a doctoral candidate in clinical epidemiology at the University of Toronto.
