Women’s College Hospital (WCH) staff, clinicians, researchers and volunteers celebrated the holiday season with festive cheer at the annual holiday party on December 13, in the Pink Cube.
Party goers mingled and watched a slideshow of photos from the past year while enjoying light refreshments and holiday music. As part of the celebration, hospital staff and volunteers signed up in teams to take part in the annual gingerbread decorating contest. Competition was fierce, with teams bringing out their most creative ideas to impress voters. Submission themes ranged from classical holiday-themed houses and log cabins to television and movie-themed houses inspired by Charles M. Schulz’s famous cartoon character, Snoopy and J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series.
All submissions were put on display in front of the Pink Cube, and attendees voted on their favourite houses. The first and second place winners of the contest are as follows:
- 1st place: Harry Potter and the Healthcare Revolution (Created by the WIHV team)
- 2nd place: A Heart Healthy Ginger House (Created by the Cardiac Rehab team)
Congratulations to the winners and thank you to everyone who participated! Submissions will be on display in the Heritage Case in the Peter Gilgan Atrium, across from the Information Desk, until Friday, December 21.
