20 ways to take care of your heart
This February, take a small step every day to build healthy habits to support your heart. Join Women’s Cardiovascular Health Initiative (WCHI) and Women’s Health Matters in implementing 20 simple heart-healthy goals this month.

According to the Public Health Agency of Canada, heart disease affects more than 2.4 million adults in Canada and is the second leading cause of death in the country. For women in particular, heart disease is the leading cause of death for those over the age of 55. Women are seven times more likely to die from a heart attack or stroke than breast cancer and are also 16 percent more likely to die after a heart attack than men.
