The Centre for Wise Practices in Indigenous Health will be collaborating with partners as listed below and hosting two events to celebrate Indigenous Education Week from November 16 - 20. WCH Wise Practices & U of T Office of Indigenous Health Opening Virtual Tour & Staff Welcoming Ceremony: The Gathering Place

This significant occasion marks the opening of our dedicated Gathering Place for Indigenous learners, faculty, staff and community members from across organizations. As our programs and governance evolve, it is our collaborative and reciprocal vision that Elders, Knowledge Keepers, educators and community supports are available to engage ceremonial practices, provide access to traditional medicines and facilitate educational and community-centred activities such as healing, counselling sessions, workshops, and symposiums; and host learner and faculty committee work.

Annual Dr. Marguerite (Peggy) Hill Lecture on Indigenous Health 

The Dr. Peggy Hill Memorial Lecture on Indigenous Health aims to raise awareness about Indigenous health and to bring together members of Toronto’s Indigenous community to learn about the outstanding work that is underway. Presented by the Medical Alumni Association in partnership with the U of T Office of Indigenous Health and the Centre for Wise Practices in Indigenous Health (Women’s College Hospital).
