Name: Ashley Graham
Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
Title & Department: Pharmacy Clinical Informatics Specialist, Pharmacy
On the WCH team for: 4+ years

1. What does your typical workday look like?
My time is split between supporting our electronic medical records (EMR) – with a focus on the pharmacy/medication module – and providing direct patient care in Surgical Services. This means my workdays look quite different and can include providing perioperative medication education to patients, maintaining and upgrading our EMR, or supporting projects like our antimicrobial stewardship and opioid stewardship initiatives.

2. What excites you the most about working at WCH?
The people; I have the pleasure of working closely with both the Pharmacy team and the Clinical Applications team which are both filled with supportive, kind, and knowledgeable individuals.

3. How does your work contribute to creating a positive patient experience?
As a pharmacist in Surgical Services, I strive to ensure patients have all the information and support they need to safely manage their medications around the time of surgery. I also work to ensure our EMR reflects best practices at WCH and incorporate patient feedback into various parts of the system.

4. Tell us one to three things that your colleagues would be surprised to learn about you!

Halloween is my favourite holiday! I am already planning for this year, but nothing will top the time I baked a brain cake that looked realistic enough one of my friends refused to eat it.
