Women’s College Hospital (WCH) is committed to creating an environment that fosters wellness among our staff, physicians, learners and volunteers. We believe that wellness extends beyond our walls; for us this means applying a wellness lens to everything we do so our people can be their best selves while at work and outside of it. It also means that our initiatives are informed by the feedback we receive from you so that our programs and supports are having direct impact in the areas you’ve identified.
We are pleased to share that in response to feedback received from across the hospital, we have renamed our Steering Committee as the Wellness & Organizational Resilience Committee (WORC). The new name reflects both how we want our teams to feel and at the same time represents the importance of ensuring WCH is able to respond to the pressures the healthcare system is facing.
A key component of the work of the Wellness & Organizational Resilience Committee is the creation of our annual work plan that outlines our projects and initiatives. The plan is based on the feedback we’ve received from this year’s Engagement Survey and has three key areas of focus:
- Operational workflow processes
- Career advancement and development
- Internal communications
We are looking forward to launching several new and exciting initiatives in the New Year including a career café, a refreshed ergonomics program and the continuation of our referral management optimization. We will also be hosting a variety of workshops and events so please be sure to visit the Wellness calendar on the intranet regularly for updates.
We hope you have a happy holiday season!
