Women’s Age Lab aims to support the healthy aging of women by reimagining a system and society where older women and their distinct well-being and health needs are recognized and addressed. Recently, members of the Women’s Age Lab have been recognized for their distinguished contributions to geriatric medicine. Congratulations to the team on the following achievements:
- Dr. Paula Rochon received the YWCA Woman of Distinction Award in Health for her achievements and dedication to improving the health and wellbeing of older women, presented at the 2025 Women of Distinction Awards on May 27. Women of Distinction are visionaries committed to creating a place at the table for women, girls and gender diverse people and shattering glass ceilings. Each year, YWCA Toronto celebrates extraordinary women who advance gender equity in a range of areas such as business, education, social justice, advocacy, health, arts, philanthropy and more.
- Dr. Paula Rochon has also received the Canadian Geriatrics Society Ronald Cape Award for her outstanding contribution to the health care of older adults in Canada, presented at the Canadian Geriatrics Society 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting on May 30.
- Dr. Nathan Stall won the Health in Aging Foundation New Investigator Award at the American Geriatrics Society Annual Scientific Meeting for his scientific abstract which reflects new and relevant research in geriatrics. The award is designed to recognize individuals who are committed to a career in aging research. Dr. Stall’s dedication to advancing the field of geriatric medicine through impactful research, mentorship, and advocacy made him an ideal candidate for the prestigious New Investigator Award.
Women’s Age Lab continues to improve the lives of older women by using science to transform care and practice, and drive health system and social change.
