For a second year in a row, Women’s College Hospital has been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers, presented by Canada’s Top 100 Employers!
“Building on last year’s achievement, Women’s College Hospital (WCH) is proud to be recognized as a workplace that not only celebrates but actively champions equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI),” says Heather McPherson, President and CEO at Women’s College Hospital. “WCH is built on a foundation that values EDI and this award represents the collective commitment and efforts in creating a safe and vibrant workplace that reflects the diversity of the world we live in, and where everyone feels welcome to bring their whole selves to work.”
Equity is demonstrated every day by #TeamWCH. This includes the completion of mandatory anti-Black racism, anti-Indigenous racism and 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion eLearning modules, forming Affinity Groups, and recognizing the unique identities of our team members by coming together to mark important events such as Black History and Futures Month, Pride Month, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and so many more.
“We know that creating a meaningful culture of belonging is an ongoing journey. With the leadership of our Office of Equity and Corporate Equity Committee, we are committed to continuing our EDI work and dismantling systemic barriers within and outside the workplace,” shares Sandra Smith, Vice President, People, Culture and Equity & CHRO. “This includes the ongoing implementation of our People Engagement and Demographic Survey that helps us understand what’s important to our WCH community, and ensuring our teams are equipped with the knowledge, skills and tools to provide culturally safe and equitable care.”
