TORONTO, ON – DEC 2, 2025 – Women’s College Hospital (WCH) has been named one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers, marking the second year in a row the hospital has received this recognition.

Presented by Canada’s Top 100 Employers, the award highlights WCH’s commitment to creating a positive work environment, inclusive and open communication, comprehensive health benefits, competitive compensation, strong employee engagement and meaningful opportunities for training and development.

“We are incredibly proud to be recognized once again as one of the region’s top employers,” says Heather McPherson, president and CEO of WCH. “This award reflects the dedication, compassion and excellence our teams bring to work every day. Our People make Women’s College Hospital the remarkable place it is, and this honour belongs to them.”

This recognition underscores WCH’s focus on investing in its people and building a workplace grounded in compassion, collaboration and excellence. WCH offers competitive benefits and comprehensive wellness supports designed to help employees achieve a healthy work–life balance. This includes participation in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) and a growing number of benefits programs each year. The hospital continues to invest in resources that support employees both at work and beyond.

WCH is also reimagining the future of work through its People Plan, which is informed by employee feedback and guides the organization in creating a workplace that supports its people with a focus on talent capacity, belonging, well-being and the future of work.

“Our People Plan helps us build a workplace where staff and physicians feel supported, energized and able to thrive,” says Sandra Smith, vice-president, People, Culture and Equity and corporate human resources officer. “Whether it’s through new opportunities for learning and development, expanded wellness supports or initiatives that strengthen belonging, we are creating the conditions where our teams can bring their best selves to work every day.”

WCH also fosters a vibrant workplace culture through events and celebrations that bring staff and physicians together throughout the year. These include its annual BBQs, holiday celebrations, fitness classes, health and wellness expos and other opportunities to connect and recharge. These gatherings reflect the spirit of #TeamWCH and the hospital’s commitment to supporting a healthy, balanced and connected workforce.
