A Day of Reflection and Respect

As we end National Indigenous History Month, it is on the same note as we started, with profound sorrow. Today marks the discovery of additional unmarked graves, this time near a former residential school in Cranbrook, BC.

This Canada Day, to honour all the Indigenous children found over the past month, and all those still missing, we have lowered the flags outside of Women’s College Hospital. As a nation, we must use this Canada Day to reflect, respect and remember the tragedy of residential schools and treatment of Indigenous communities. Our thoughts and hearts go out to Indigenous community members today and every day, as we walk the path towards reconciliation.
