Every year, National Volunteer Week is an important time to recognize and celebrate our remarkable volunteers and their impact on our patients and hospital community. This year’s theme, “Volunteering is Empathy in Action,” particularly resonates here at Women’s College. The kindness and compassion of our volunteers is often a source of comfort for our patients and families, and inspiration for our staff, physicians, and learners.
Throughout the ever-changing landscape of the pandemic, your commitment and dedication has never wavered as you found creative ways to step up and support us even when we had to remain apart. And today, I am thrilled to be seeing many of our amazing volunteers back at the hospital as you once again resume your roles. Each of you are an integral part of our community and you make an important difference for both our patients and our teams.
Over the course of this week, we will be celebrating the tremendous impact of our volunteers throughout the organization, and our team has organized some fun surprises and treats. On behalf of all our staff, physicians, learners, researchers, and the entire Women’s College Hospital community, thank you for your support and extraordinary efforts.
