April 10, 2024

Here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 Day of Excellence in Academics programming and events. There are many ways to get involved, and we encourage everyone to attend and celebrate the incredible work of #TeamWCH!

1. Visit the WCH Day of Excellence in Academics poster gallery

Starting on Monday, April 15, to Thursday, April 18, interprofessional posters will be on display throughout Women’s College Hospital (WCH).

The poster galleries will be located in the WCH atrium, the Labyrinth and at two locations on the second floor (near the Auditorium and the Pink Cube). Be sure to follow the directional signs and check out all the posters on display, representing the breadth of work ongoing at WCH. The posters have also been posted virtually here (you must be logged into the WCH network to view).

Jim Ruderman Lecture on Primary Care

This year’s lecture will be delivered by Dr. Noah Ivers, a family physician and scientist at Women’s College Hospital. He is also an innovation fellow at the Women’s College Institute for Health System Solutions and Virtual Care. Dr. Ivers will present on “Good” Primary Care: What it is, why it matters, and how we support it. Join us in person or virtually for a discussion on how primary care is foundational for an equitable and efficient system, but:

  • REACTING is not enough: we need to be PROACTIVE
  • FAMILY PROVIDERS are not enough: we need TEAMS
  • TEAMS are not enough: we need DATA-DRIVEN systems
  • DATA is not enough: we need INNOVATIONS in policy and services

Interprofessional Oral Presentations

The top five submissions (chosen by a WCH adjudication committee) will deliver oral presentations in the WCH auditorium on April 18 from 1:30 – 2:45 p.m. We encourage you to check out the presentations in person or virtually and support your #TeamWCH colleagues!

Awards Ceremony

The day concludes with an awards ceremony during which education, professional practice, quality improvement, and research awards will be bestowed.

The awards ceremony will take place in the WCH auditorium at 3:15 p.m. as well as virtually on Zoom.
