Research and Innovation

Women’s College Hospital is a world leader in health for women, health equity and health system solutions – a hospital designed to keep people out of hospital. As an academic organization, fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, we know that research and innovation are critical components towards advancing our mission of creating a healthier more equitable world.

As a result, both research institutes – Women’s College Research Institute (WCRI) and WCH Institute for Health System Solutions and Virtual Care (WIHV) – advance scientific insights related to health equity and health system solutions.

Our scientists, all of whom have academic appointments at the University of Toronto, conduct research that improves population health, patient experience and the efficiency of our healthcare system. They are using revolutionary thinking to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing patients by developing breakthrough discoveries that will improve clinical practice and treatment outcomes.
